WHO WE ARE
In 1936, Dale Carnegie wrote “about 15 percent of one’s financial success is due to one’s technical knowledge and about 85% is due to skill in human engineering – to personality and the ability to lead people." (How to Win Friends and Influence People, Pocket Books, 1937). Almost a century later in a climate of increasing social and political polarization, Carnegie’s pitch for the power of people skills remains relevant. In fact, people skills are a non-negotiable necessity for the 21st century leader.
Highrise Vista Consulting was founded to provide people in organizations with core ‘human engineering’ capabilities that drive organizational success. We help teams align to common goals, work better together, and grow through conflict. On a lifelong mission to improve the world of work for the people who inhabit it, we exist to teach leaders and the people who report to them how to build connections with each other, bring out the best in each other, and solve their most challenging problems.
In my two decades working for large and small consulting firms and advising leaders and executives in large, multinational organizations, I have seen leaders consistently sacrificing core values and the well-being of employees in the name of profit and growth. Regardless of the financial gain achieved (or lost!) from de-prioritizing people in organizations, the harm caused is unnecessary and often unintended. Commonly, people in organizations lack the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to collaborate in ways that bring out the best in everyone. I created Highrise Vista Consulting to address this lack of human engineering skill in organizations with a framework (culture) that is applicable across industries, functions, types of organization, and geographical locations.
